Deconstructing Architectures of Separation by Akil Scafe-Smith

Our chapter written in Future Architecture Platform’s Archifutures Vol.5 publication, titled ‘Apocalypse’, and edited by dpr-barcelona and &beyond. The research looked at how ‘the wall’, an archetype of separation, might be re-imagined as something that brings us together and informed our ‘If These Walls Could Talk’ workshop in addition to our 2018 installation ‘OFF GRID’ at the Haus Der Kulturen Der Welt in Berlin. The chapter is an edited transcript from our lecture at Future Architecture: Creative Exchange 2018 conference at MAO in Ljubljana, Slovenia, which can also be viewed in its entirety (alongside other related videos) at the bottom of the page.
